Check out what to say to someone who complains about the way they look

Do you know anybody who is always complaining about their appearance but they’re not willing to put in the work to look any better? It’s hard to have any sympathy when they go on about losing weight, and then pop another yummy chocolate biscuit into their mouth.

I always think you can’t complain about something unless you are willing to change. The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I would like to have stronger abs but I don’t mention it to anyone in case they give me a lecture that I should start doing sit-ups, truth be told I can’t be bothered. So I stick to paddleboarding and have average abs as a result.

Next time your friend is whinging about their looks, here are a few fun things you can say with a smile.

People don’t like the way they look and don’t do anything thing to change

It’s pretty common for folks who are dissatisfied with their appearance to feel stuck in a cycle of self-criticism and inaction. It could be due to lack of confidence, not knowing what to do to live a healthy lifestyle, or societal pressures, many people find themselves unable to break free from this negative pattern.

This can lead to a sense of frustration and low self-esteem, perpetuating a cycle of negative self-perception.

Breaking free from a negative pattern or thought loop usually requires a mindset shift and thinking about a new course of action that you can put in to practice to get a different result. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of crazy.

It’s important to remember that everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin, and taking steps towards positive change can lead to a more fulfilling and empowered life.

  1. take this one down. Your page is suppose to help people with what to say when someone is bullying them. But the “What to say to someone who complains about their appearance” is not acceptable. That person is pointing out their INSECURITIES.If someone stabs themselves you should take it out, not make it deeper. Especially since all of those sentences are supposed to be meant for fat people. Ya know, the people who uncomfortable in their own skin 24/7. The people who try to starve themselves because society is telling them they should. The people who hide their actions to attempt to look slimmer.Making them feel bad about themselves is not okay and who ever read that page will thing its ok since you titled it “What to say”. So instead of posting sentences that bring fat people down, post sentences that makes themselves good like “why give up being king sized to be fun sized? everyone likes king sized candy for halloween”. Im well aware you said to say those things with a smile but with a smile or not they bring people down and its not right

    1. Hi Jamyleth, this post wasn’t about being unkind to overweight people. It is about taking action over procrastination and trying to point out that someone needs to take action.

  2. Thanks, Bryn. In fact, I would like to see some comebacks for people who constantly make barbs about being elderly. Some even go so far as to throw that in the face of kids not yet old enough to drive; “You’ll be old and decrepit like me someday”. Being old does not mean being decrepit; they get that way because they’re too lazy to go for walks and crack open a book. Being elderly is supposed to make you more WISE.

  3. Hey, so uhm what do I do if someone is constantly pointing out your sexuality and how it’s “complicated”? I’m pansexual, or it’s also referred to as omnisexual. I would honestly love some tips.
